Eastside Square Accelerator
The East Main Accelerator was created by the Kalamazoo County Land Bank with the purpose to rent the commercial space at 1601 E Main. The goal is to rent the commercial space to a tenant who creates a third space for resident to gather and act as an attraction to bring visitors and locals to the neighborhood.
So, what is a third space? A third space is a location that can facilitate social interactions outside of home and work. The 1601 E. Main third space could take the form of a restaurant, coffee shop, or other venue that is open to the public. The Kalamazoo County Land Bank will provide the space in “turn key” condition with flooring, a kitchen with hood system , and restrooms.
Upon submission of your application, a subcommittee will review and score the submitted material based on the matrix established by our Real Estate Committee. All submission must be received by October 25th to receive consideration.
